Artist Statement ~ Carol Black-Lemon
I feel most successful as an artist when I am able to balance life's daily challenges and still feel inspired to create art at the end of the day. I feel a Higher Power leading me to be creative and as a result I feel very blessed that I am in His Grace. I am following my dream by creating works of art that enlighten me and that reflect my life's journey. I really do believe that every single person on this planet has an ability to create change in the world but no one knows exactly how they will actually make a difference in life ~ and that is part of the mystery of life. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sibling and caring human-being. I hope to learn and grow as an artist, and to make a mark in humanity in a positive way before the end of my journey. Carol, 2010
My fascination with Dragonflies: The meaning of a dragonfly changes with each culture. The main symbolisms of the dragonfly are renewal, positive force and the power of life in general. Dragonflies can also be a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. Also, as a creature of the wind, the dragonfly frequently represents change. And as a dragonfly lives a short life, it knows it must live its life to the fullest with the short time it has - which is a lesson for all of us. |
